Room sprays

Room sprays – Room sprays give housekeeping an immediate way to refresh a guest room, bathroom or meeting room between uses. They are chosen where a permanent diffuser is not appropriate or where the scent has to be applied on demand. The relevant criteria are the fragrance profile, the bottle size, the type of spray head and whether the formulation is intended for the air, for textiles or for both.

When asking for a quotation, state the number of rooms, the expected frequency of use and whether the fragrance should match diffusers already in place. If the spray is to be used on curtains or upholstery, check the alcohol content and the textile suitability given in the technical data.

Room sprays: procurement considerations

  • Fragrance family: A fresh, neutral profile suits guest rooms, while stronger notes work better in lobbies and other public areas.
  • Bottle size: Small bottles fit housekeeping trolleys, larger formats reduce the unit cost in properties with high room turnover.
  • Spray head: A fine mist covers a greater air volume and settles without leaving marks on furniture or mirrors.
  • Textile compatibility: Not every formulation may be applied to fabrics, which is decisive for curtains, upholstery and bed runners.

Frequently asked questions about this category

Can room sprays be applied to textiles?

Only formulations that state textile suitability. Test on a concealed area first, particularly on delicate or dark fabrics.

Should the spray be used in front of the guest?

It is normally applied during servicing so that the scent has time to settle before the guest returns to the room.
