Restaurant and breakfast trolleys

Restaurant and breakfast trolleys – Restaurant and breakfast trolleys are the general-purpose service trolleys used for clearing, plate transport, buffet replenishment and room service: two- or three-tier frames in stainless steel or coated steel, with fixed or removable shelves, push handles and castors. Capacity, tier spacing, castor quality and ease of cleaning are the criteria that normally decide which model is chosen.

In your enquiry, state the number of tiers, the shelf size and load required, the door and lift dimensions the trolley has to pass, and whether braked castors are needed. Shelf dimensions, load rating, frame material and castor type are listed in the technical data of each product.

Restaurant and breakfast trolleys: procurement considerations

  • Tier count and spacing: Three tiers move more covers at once, but low spacing limits the height of stacked plates and cloches.
  • Load rating per shelf: Check the per-shelf figure rather than the total when the trolley carries crockery or bottles.
  • Castors and noise: Rubber-tyred castors run more quietly on hard floors and cause less damage to door frames and skirtings.
  • Cleaning: Removable shelves and smooth, fully welded frames are quicker to clean and leave fewer places for residue.

Frequently asked questions about this category

What width should a trolley have for standard doorways?

Measure the narrowest door and lift on the route and allow a few centimetres of clearance; exact widths are stated on each product page.

Are these trolleys suitable for room service?

Yes, models with a quiet castor set and a closed lower shelf are widely used for room service deliveries.
